Lotus: New iconic model the Emira

The history of Lotus continues with a new iconic model: the Emira.

The Emira is the most accomplished Lotus ever produced by the manufacturer according to Matt Windle, Managing Director of the British firm.

The aerodynamics have been optimized as well as the roominess to make it an everyday sports car. Inside, a central double cup holder, phone compartment, central armrest with USB ports and so on.

Luggage can be stowed behind the two seats up to 208 liters or in the trunk behind the engine up to 151 liters, which accepts a standard suitcase or a bag of golf clubs.

Access to the vehicle's infotainment system is via a 10.25-inch touchscreen in the middle, with an additional 12.3-inch TFT display for the driver behind the wheel. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are provided as standard. The First Edition will be equipped with a 10-channel KEF premium audio system including three KEF Uni-Q speakers and a fresh air subwoofer for exceptionally pure sound. As for build, the car has two defined chassis and suspension settings.

And to test all this, Matt Windle invited an experienced racer in the name of Jenson Button! The "Tour" mode is designed for everyday use on the road, offering an optimal mix between the dynamic performance and handling of the Lotus ensuring increased driving comfort.

The "Sports" mode is available with the Lotus Drivers Pack option and features a slightly harder suspension setting for optimized dynamic qualities and feel. As standard, the Emira is equipped with full LED exterior lighting that provides excellent visibility, especially in humid and dark conditions or at night, while consuming much less power than halogen or xenon HID bulbs. The elliptical shape of the LED tail lights reinforces the stern design and includes a third brake light positioned high up and mounted in the center of the rear spoiler.

This Emira is unmistakably aimed at racers, including the engine, a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 with 400hp and a 6-speed manual gearbox.

290 km / h in a straight line and 4.3 s on 0-100 km / h for this Lotus Emira announced in a First Edition at a price of 95.995 €.
