Intercella, an animated surprising sculpture

Here is the latest outstanding work by Austrian artist Thomas Medicus, mainly known for his work on glass.

And Intercella is no exception. While the installation is all about multimedia, it is primarily centred on a hanging piece of traditional stained glass. About 1 metre 50 in diameter, painted in bright colours, this piece represents a cell in an abstract way.

And to make it more intense in the eyes of viewers, Thomas Medicus wanted to use this translucent sculpture as a screen, behind which are two projectors that project a digital animation. The result? The stained glass really seems to come alive...

A colourful visual installation full of mystery and poetry that we let you discover a little more now in images…
